Filters are a feature of the Shacknews comments system to allow shackers to filter out posts of a certain content.
Posts are tagged by moderators into a few different categories.
The currently available filters are:
The default setting is to hide NWS, Political, and Tangent tagged posts.

Not having your filters set correctly is a common cause for "my posts have disappeared" or "why was I nuked" posts, when actually the shacker had not set their filters correctly.
Filters can be changed with the "Settings" button under the latest chatty text.
Important: non-logged users can't see filtered posts - they get a "bad id" text.
